The Anthony and Marcia Baker Scholarship Fund: This scholarship is for young women who have demonstrated commitment to their communities in one of the four areas, emotional well-being, social well-being, academic support/success, and cultural appreciation.

History: The Anthony and Marcia Baker Scholarship Fund birthed from the Miss Jamaica Florida pageant, South Florida’s longest running cultural pageant. For almost 30 years, the Miss Jamaica Florida pageant has developed the young women of Jamaican decent by enhancing self-confidence, social awareness, and pride in heritage. After Mr. Bakers passing, his wife, Marcia Rigg-Baker took the baton to carry the torch of uplifting young women of the Jamaican Diaspora community. Through this scholarship, we honor the foundation they built by empowering young women of the next generation.

“No matter her social standing, no matter her origin…she is a Queen. Her excellence, intelligence, and commitment, make our society a better place, we honor her.”

– Mrs. Marcia Rigg-Baker
